In Oklahoma I signed birth certificate I'm not biological
What protocols must I go through to stop child support that was granted to the mother. Now here's the problem,I signed the birth certificate knowing the baby was "not" mine.We both knew that! The baby turned 2 already,we are no longer together, and I have had a power of attorney before she filed. The judge granted her child support Nov.7,2012 and I now have to pay close to $500 a month. Now before we split up,we discussed that I'd voluntarily help her out with the baby but now she filed on me!What the heck!! So,I'm hoping someone can give me some good advice and I guess criticism can all be in the same sentence. Thanks to all who respond!!

First of all, you committed a crime by putting your name on the birth certificate knowing the baby wasn't yours. You forged a legal document.

Since you so severely mucked up, you really need an attorney for this to keep you out of more legal trouble than you are already in.

I have a couple of questions for you:

    Quote:

... knowing the baby was "not" mine.. .
What are you saying by putting the not in quotes? You are simply empasizing the word "not"?

You had a power of attorney allowing you to do what?

Thank You very much for your respectable response.I truly appreciate your time and comprehension of the querry.I do have to look further into the matter. However,I've already filed my response to the court and will anxiously anticipate its response to my appeal. It's very relieving to know what to look for as my appeal goes.Hopefully,it won't be too late.Much Thanks!!

Looks to me like its too late. Since you didn't file prior to the hearing where she was awarded support, you are the legal father and will remain so.
