I went on vacation and turned off the hot and cold water to the washing machine. When I came home, and turned on the hot and cold water valves behind the washer, I only get hot water... no cold water.
Thank you for any suggestions you might have to fix the problem.

Make sure the faucet is actually opening and not just spinning the handle. Turn off the water and remove the CW hose and make sure the screen is not plugged. If all is clear, you will have to check the CW solenoid, they sometimes stick, and the water temp control. My guess would be a water supply issue.
