My 10 year old shih tzu all of a sudden started acting strange she has always gone outside done her business and come right back in. Now she goes out and hides and it take us 30 minutes to find her. In the house she does not stay in the room with us she goes to my bed room door and scratches on it. She just wants to hide. When I leave for work she runs out the door with me and I have to pick her up she will not come to me she will just sit there. This all happened when it was windy one night and I thought that was it and she would be OK after that was over but she has not stopped. She shakes and pants all the time. Its like she has anexity now or something. Don't know what to do.

Maybe something scared her or it's because she's old. Often dogs that are old will stop eating, and have trouble walking. Sometimes dogs want to be alone to die depending on what breed they are, some will go hide in the garden like yours does

When was the last time she went to the vet? I would take her in for a quick checkup to ensure nothing is going on.
