Bryant Plus t80 blower motor
Bryant Plus 80t, 12 yrs old. Blower stopped working though furnace ignited. Guy came out, said limit switch tripped, reset switch, said he did something to make it less likely to fail again (according to the invoice he adjusted the gas pressure and blower off delay). I also paid for some routine maintenance. It worked fine at least for a while but 10 days later it wasn't blowing again, guy came out, said switch tripped again. This time he said he replaced the switch with one that would automatically reset, however when he went to test it the switch immediately tripped again. He concluded I need a new blower motor which will cost me about $500 (probably plus labor). He said the motor wasn't turning fast enough though he had no way to actually test it. Is that a valid assumption on his part or is there something else that should be ruled out before replacing the motor? I'm just concerned if that's not it I'm wasting the money to have the motor replaced. I'm trying to find out if they will guarantee that fixes it but so far no one has been able to tell me that.
