I live in Wisconsin and I HATE my mom but I am forced to live with her by law. I don't no why.:confused: I need to know the legal age limit I can choose my custody between parents.

At 18 you can move to live with which ever parent you want.

Over the age of 12 and sometimes younger, you are allowed to tell the judge in a custody hearing which parent you would prefer to live with.

So you will need to have the other parent file for custody in court where you will tell the judge, But it is still and always will be up to a judge.

There are normally reasons court gives custody, why did they,?

Not sure about WI, but in PA you can speak on your own behalf at the age of 12, although true weight isn't given until 14. Also, hating your mom isn't good enough. You will have to make a case showing clear benefits for moving in with your dad.
