    Light switch overhead light and plug in on wall which wires do I connect
    Single light switch, single wall outlet,and single overhead light,which wires do I connect to control just the light with the wall switch

    Since we have no idea what wires you have it is hard for us to say what to connect. You may even have to run new wires.

    I have black hot coming in to overhead light,then the others go to light switch and outlet ,I want to keep hot at all times,just control the light

    Keep going, what are the"others" and how are they connected? How many and what color they are helps.

    Dwight, I think you are under the impression that every circuit like this is wired exactly the same so we all know exactly how it is wired.
    This is just not so.
