Hello Help Desk!

I have an Emerson EWD2204 DVD/VCR Player. While in DVD mode, the tray door will not open after pressing the eject button. I do not hear any weird noises. After approximately 5 seconds, the player switches to VCR mode. The tray is empty.

I looked at a couple of videos on YouTube on how to fix a stuck DVD tray with no success. I was able to remove the DVD player but did not see a rubber band. I did see a light pinkish, oily substance on the white roller looking gadgets (sorry but I do not know the name of the parts). I do not know how to proceed from here since it is as if I'm looking at extraterrestrial objects. :-)
