I bought a brand new snapper rear engine rider. I got it home started it up and drove about 30 seconds when it started sputtering and spitting. It runs fine with the clutch depressed. When it is released the engine sputters and spits and barely runs. It is a brand new mower with only about 1 minute of riding.

I would just say to make sure the fuel shutoff os fully open. Other than that - Warranty! That is what they are for.
