I coughed this morning and very thick hard chunky mucus came up off my chest it was brown/yellow with blood in it I went to my doctor and he said flu and didn't didn't prescribe anything am concerned as I smoke and just want a second opinion

Can't give you a second opinion here but it doesn't sound like just flue, katie. Please go to another doctor, get tested properly. If you are a smoker with heavy mucus, including blood this is not good.

I have achey leg muscles and a headache I think that's the reason why he said that, I always have mucus on my chest specialy morning time and might before I go to bed but its never clear its always a yellowy colour I never think anything of it it was just the blood and hard lumps that concerned me
