I am 45 and have regular periods. This month is odd. Ive bled a few times after intercourse. 8 days before my period is due I started a brown discharge. It has lessoned but still there when I wipe. I am due for my period in 2 days but no sympotoms other than sore nipples. What the heck is going on?

When was your last PAP smear? If it hasn't been recent, I urge you to get one soon. Bleeding after intercourse is not normal and can be a symptom of cervical cancer.

Also, at your age, it is quite common for women to begin to undergo perimenopause.

My last pap was in feb. I will make an appt with my dr this month. I can't take a chance. I do have history of endo. Could this be the cause? Thank you for responding. I appreciate any help at this pont. Most of my friends have had a hysterectomy... I am trying to hold on to my bits and pieces as long as I can.

Update: Got my period as scheduled. I think evrrything was caused by stress! I will monitor the situation next month.
