My son was told his senior year that because he had an "f" on his progress report he would have to quit the baseball team. We spoke with the principal and the superintendent of the school and they said that it was out of their hands because the board had passed the rule " no F allowed". Come to find out next football season 4 boys had gotten " F " on their progress reports but were told that the no F rule hadn't passed after all. My son has always maintained an 3.5 GPA. He is in college now. We live in a prominent white community and we are Hispanic and well noted for it. So upset and just want some justice. He will never get his senior year back and it nearly destroyed his senior year. Is there anything we can do?

Consult an attorney. First, you need conclusive proof that he was subjected to a rule that did not exist. Second, you will have to prove real damages, not necessarily emotional ones. This is why you need to consult an attorney, to determine whether a case can be made AND won. And you can't go blundering around trying to find the evidence, because that will alert the authorities.

Based on what you have posted, I think you may have enough of a case to pursue. But a local attorney can give you a much better idea than we can.

Yes, hiring an attorney will be the first step, and finding evidence to present in court that other children had F and were allowed to pay the same year in the same sport. And proof that was why he was not allowed ( I assume they gave you written documents taking him out)
