My gas furnace has a mind of its own
The burner comes on, on my gas furnace even though the temp is set lower then the house temp is. House temp 80 and the temp is set to come on at 65 and the blower does not come on, after 1 to 2 min the fire shuts off and all seams good. I can turn up the temp and every thing works as it should the air pump comes on the fire starts 1 to 2 min the blower comes on works great the house comes up to temp and every thing shuts off as it should, and now and then the fire just comes on for no reason that I understand I check the temp of the house setting and the temp that the heater should come on, house is like 72 and the heater is set to come on at 65 out of the blue fire comes on gets everything hot and puff it goes out. Oh you and that little fan that comes on before the fire starts it comes on before the fire starts . Thanks to any one who can help

I think I'd start by inspecting/replacing the thermostat wire. Sometimes it will get damaged by a staple or even mice chewing on the insulation.

Any way I will replace it anyway check the wires and let you know what happens thaks again.

Can't say that I've ever seen a 9 volt in a thermostat. Glad you got it fixed. Stay warm & have a good Thansgiving.
