Can I sign my rights over to my mother?
Ok please read with an open mind and thinknwhat would you do if you were in my situation. I have had to allow my now 15 yr old daughter movein with my mother after 3yrs of trying my best with her and my son. Their mother was deported 4 yrs ago. I learned they were living back and forth with relatives till basically being left alone for 2-3 weeks. I went to get them filed full custody and won. My wife now and myself moved to accommodate them plus our twin daughters who are 9 now and my wife's son 14. We moved into a 5 bedroom 4 bath home. Giving the older kids their own room, twins sharing. My wife took full responsibility of all the kids while I worked 2 jobs to provide for my family. Of course they is no such thing as a perfect family and 3 teenagers in one home is pure drama. We accepted that and still held on to do our best. Major problems started my stepson being expelled from school for fighting defending my daughter not once, twice, three four times. I would ground her. She expressed over how much she hated us and our rules. My wife stayed strong and compromised several times with her. Nothing changed with my daughter. She became more and more uncontrollable. She is a quiet grl but bluntly told us she didn't want to be with us over and over. She began telling stories in school how she was moving away. We had several parents approach us in public concerned why were we sending her away! We stood our ground still. BF after BF constantly breaking our rules. Her constant tantrums and threats to harm our twins led my wife into a severe depression and basically us living in complete turmoil. My wife got the whole family into counseling began confiding in school officials and had a licensed therapist start coming into our home. I have to say she was the best for my wife. Everything seem to be going well. Until my daughter decided again she didn't want to be with us. She told her BF I was physically abusing her anddd my fatherinlaw! BF told his parents CPS camein. Long story short now CPS dropped case and sent us a case dismissal stating inconclusive false details. The main caseworker called and told my wife my daughter admitted to lying to her. And she did not care. Now myself and my wife heartbroken gave up and let my daughter movein with my mother. My daughter needs serious pyschological help she has made several remarks how she will never love me cause I can't love her as I love my wife. She is going to school where my stepson does. She constantly is causing probs for him still. My son who is 17 decided to move out of state with his mothers parents. I had no clue till the day he left. Im now at the point what too do. Im afraid my daughter is going to end up pregnant or worse. I have tried my best to be her father still only to get pushed away and my mother letting her do whatever she wants.

You can give mom temporary guardianship. But no you would not be allowed to sign over your rights unless your mother wants to adopt.

You didn't ask, but you could have prevented your son from moving. The mothers parents have no legal right to him since you have legal custody.

I did my best to prevent him from leaving. I had no idea he was gone till the next day. I called the police to get told since he's 17 and was with relatives he was of age to make his decision to where he wanted to be. I begged after him for months to come back. Before he left I was here for him 100%

Sounds like the police just didn't want to be bothered. But to know if they were giving you accurate info, we need to know where this is, since laws vary by area.

we live in south Texas. I asked our attorney and the law here is 17 legal age to leave home. I found out several other 17's here have left parents called police. Same scenerio...

If your attorney confirmed it, then I won't bother looking it up.
