You don't tell him - he probably knows that your age gap can get him in serious trouble, even if you just date and don't have sex, but an adult (any adult) thinks you do. Laws vary by state.

What if no one knows?

First question is do your parents approve and allow you to date. If they don't you have no business getting involved with any boy until they do.

The media is trying to make children grow up too fast. You are still a child, enjoy your childhood.

Jojoueys, the odds of you getting found out are close to 100%. A best friend of either of you tells someone else sworn to secrecy, and before you know it everyone knows. You have to know how that works by now. He goes to jail and gets put on a sex offender registry for the rest of his life. He can never get a job or an apartment. People run him out of the neighborhood (it's online and they don't know that it was a girl with a crush on him; they assume rape or child molesting. It IS rape and child molesting if he has sex with you). You don't have a clue how this has RUINED guys.

How are you watching movies with a 16 year old boy? Does your mother know this?
He is too old for you and has no business even looking at you. As a mother there is no way a 12 year old daughter of mind would be watching movies with a 16 year old. This boy could get in trouble messing with you.

I know you have probably heard this but at this young age, age is not just a number... 12 year olds are WAY different than 16 year olds... just rememer at his age he will want to do more than hold your hand... its not a bad thing but he is more mture and he has a lot more sexual feelings... if that makes sense... I just don't want anyone to get on trouble with this... like the people above were saying it is rape

And a 16 year old should not be looking seductive at any 12 year old.

I agree very much so much he will be conciter a rapist find some your age anyway your to young to date you have to be 13 are older in my house and I'm 12 so trust me find some one else to date your age..!. it a tip
