    Heater troubles
    It seems that some how r another the Furnace has got hot enough to melt the Control knob on top of the Gas valve that u would use to turn on the gas and also light the pilot. How this one works is,to light the pilot u must turn the knob to the pilot setting and push down a button that is right next to the knob. Now the knob has a space notch out for the button to go down when it's on the pilot lighting section. After it lights. U turn it back to on Position. Ok. Why would it get HOT. Also. It would not light this year. After two hrs I gave up. Turn off gas. Forgot to turn off power,left on Thermostat and the button to the blower was on auto. It never came on,or cycled that night. I remember the next day. Went to turn it off and the gas valve was warm to the touch. What's going on
