My Ferret got distemper from my puppys distemper shot, can it infect the other dogs?
Recently we got a new puppy and she got her first shots, distemper being one of them. Our Ferret got the distemper from the fecal deposit of the puppy due to the distemper antibody. We have another dog, a small 3 lb Chi, who started vomiting the following day. He seems fine now, after a day of being sick, no nasal discharge, etc. He is 6 years old. What are the chances of him getting distemper from the Ferret who just died from it. The small Chi and ferret stayed in the same bed, and the ferret went poop there after being infected. Thanks for any info.

Was it confirmed by a professional that the ferret got distemper from the vaccine? As far as I know, the vaccines given to our dogs are all a modified live or killed virus and cannot be transmitted or be the cause of an infection.

Its an old belief that vaccines cause disease.
