I was just recently charged for theft under 5000 for stealing about $300 from shoppers drug mart. I am a 39 year old woman. I have a previous impaired charge from when I was 19 and I was charged with impersonation when I was 17 (trying to obtain fake id). I don't know why I did this, although after doing a lot of reading since this happened, I understand that I've been quite upset as my best friend recently passed away. I travel across the border frequently for work, my son's sports, family that reside in the US etc. Will I be eligible for diversion with my prior criminal charges? Is this going to impede my travels to the US. I'm absolutely sick over this and am embarrassed and disgusted with myself. I'm willing to do anything the courts ask but just don't want to be convicted of this
