Hello I am looking for some advice my son is 2 years 10 months and he woke up Friday with blood in his ear and I took him to a doctor and they said they think the bleeding is from his grommets he got when he was 10 months. The doctor gave him antibiotics. He had blood in his ear again on Saturday and I took him back and the doctor then said to keep him on the antibiotics. Yesterday there was a little watery blood and today there is yellow pus coming out of his ear. I am trying to get him to an ENT in the mean while.. We need to fly out for an ent so we are busy with the arrangements but here is my question what can be the cause of this but he does not look sick at all no pain no fever or anything he is as happy as ever...

My guess is that the bleeding is from his grommets he got when he was 10 months. You should probably finish the antibiotics course. Not doing so could be detrimental to your son even if he has nothing that the antibiotics will treat.

Please, for the love of all the kittens on the internet, trust the word of a medical professional over that of people on the internet. He is a medical professional and I could be the most ignorant person who will tell you a tale of something completely irrelevant to your son's condition. Leading you down the garden path and giving you a false impression of the severity of your son's condition.
