It started a few weeks ago about the size of a pea and now it's gotten bigger. It's red and tender. There is no head on it.
Anyone have any ideas.

Usually a lump like this, in that spot is a lymph node. A lymph node is an early warning sign of a low grade infection, such as a cold, and it is signalling to your immune system that this is an infection.
Don't touch it.
