I won't comment on what the sister says because she may have her own reasons for wanting them to still be together. It means she could be correct or she could be trying to cause problems.

I don't think I would stay with someone who keeps bringing his 'ex' up during arguments. How do you respond when he says something about going back to her? Do you let him have his way so he doesn't leave you?

Why do you put up with him? Why do you stay when he seems to use his ex as a way to control you?

Personally, I would end my confusion and his controlling behavior by leaving him. I know there are men who would treat me with respect and not use their exes as a weapon in disagreements and arguments.
