    Perimeter homework
A kitchen is 14 1/2 feet by 18 1/3 feet. How much molding would be needed to go around the bottom of the four walls?

    Here is the equation to figure out your homework: (14 1/2 X 2) + (18 1/3 X 2)

    -or-

    14 1/2 + 14 1/2 + 18 1/3 + 18 1/3 = _______
On this one though you need to find a common denominator for 1/2 and 1/3. When you get the answer, post it and I will let you know if you are correct!

perimeter is the sum of the lengths of the sides. If the kitchen is 14 1/2 by 18 1/3 then there are 2 walls that are 14 1/2 and 2 walls that are 18 1/3. Just add all four side lengths together and you'll have your answer.
