    Fsa claim
    Hi,
I have a question on FSA (Flexible spending account) for dependent.

I joined my current employer in Sept this year. And I am planning to use the FSA acct given by my employer.
My kid is goind to preschool and I already have paid the fees for this year.
So is it possible that I declare my fsa acct planned amount as 5k (which will be split in equal parts for the remaining pay checks for the year) and at the end of the year I claim it by showing the receipt of the payment I did before I joined this employer?

Can I claim the whole year expenses or just the expenses occurred during my employment with my current employer (which is 3 months by dec 2012).

    Thanks,

To my knowledge, there is NO requirement to pro-rate the FSA. If your employer allows it, go for it.
