Builder lowered price days after we signed the contract.it is now $50,000 less than what we signed. We didn't go through an agent. Before we go and talk to the builder, I wanted to see what our options are?

What does this mean? Lowered the price of what? The same style house in the same development? Surely your contract has a clause or two for getting out, usually based on getting a mortgage and so on... so don't met the terms, let it expire, and buy again in January. Prices tend to drop a lot in the winter.
This does not make sense. The builder of the house contracted to sell it to you at a set price and now proposes to charge you $50 k less? That's great as far as you are concerned, but I can't believe that's what you mean. Please explain.
