I have a Frigidaire gas furnace - have had it for several years - but changing the filter has always been an issue. It is an Upflow/horizontal unit so the filter goes on the bottom, under the blower. The problem I am having is that I was told to get a 14" x 25" x1" filter but the opening to slide the filter in is only 13" wide so I end up mangling the filter. Because it is such a hassle, I probably do not change it as often as I should.
Would I be better off getting a filter with the actual dimensions (not what is printed on the filter but actual) of 13"? I could order custom if I had to - just not sure why company tells me to get 14" filter (actual size 13.5") when the opening is smaller. Thanks!
