Type of passport now being issued in Ghana
This is a follow up question to a post I did from yesterday asking about the authenticity of a Ghana passport. I now have read that Biometric passports are being issued. Can someone answer when this type became the accepted version. In other words, are ALL new Ghana passports now Biometric. This would answer my question once and for all. She continues to insist that she is in love with me. I've told her that I am not sending any money and she still is here so my peace of mind any further comments would be greatly appreciated.

Biometric passports are issued all over the world, but there is still a choice on which one you can have, especially if it's an older one.

You seem hung up on this person, so play it by ear, but be prepared to bail at ANY sign of trouble..

    Ghana Passports
Thank you to Curlyben for a quick answer. Yes I am hung up on this person. The passport she e-mailed was issued on 10-10-12 and that is why I am asking and how long is a passport valid for? We spend many hours each day on skype so I know she is real and all her information seems to be genuine but caution still needs to be used. Any other comments or observations would greatly help. I need to decide which way to go asap. Thank you one and all.

This has all the hallmarks of the typical Ghana romance scam.

Doesn't it strike you as odd that she has a brand new passport issued within the last few days!!

Serious alarm bells should be being heard right about now...

Play the cyber game by all means, but be aware of the underlying issues...

Replying to Curlyben. Again, thank you for the reply. She told me a few weeks ago she was getting the passport so I knew about it earlier. She says she got it to prove her intentions of coming here to the US. This why I am asking these type of questions. Would a passport issued on 10-10-12 be a Biometric version. It appears all she is lacking is a visa and airfare. If I do decide for the airfare, it will be a prepaid ticket at the airlines. Again any further info from anybody regarding issues with similar situation.

    Hello bobby:

Look.. I'm alone.. I'd LOVE to fall in love. I get INVITES all the time from "girls" who want to strike up a relationship... They're ALL from Ghana. This scam is their major INDUSTRY...

Once you send a prepaid ticket, you're HOOKED... True, they can't cash that in (or so you think), but there'll be a bond she has to post, or pay for an exit visa, or she'll need some new clothes, or she'll have to pay someone to watch her poor sick mother while she's away... If you've already INVESTED in a ticket, what's a few more dollars for some nice warm nookie?

We get at LEAST one person a week asking about this... If this tiny little website gets THAT many posts, can you imagine how many men NEVER ask, and get taken for lots of money??

It's a WELL KNOWN scam too. How come you'd rather believe HER, than everybody else? Are you THAT horny?

I get about 4 "I love you emails" a day. They send messages to my business account, and there has been a few dozen who even tried to post on this site from time to time.

    1. They will never ever admit they are a fake.
    2. They will tell you that they love you for as long as you are still answering them, It is a written script.
    3. Ask for them to use Skype or other computer video service so you can see her live to know it is her you are talking to.

But again, they often use real passports, just photo shop the photo of the person, or even just use that persons photo.

Also they just make a passport, sorry, a new one comes out, they can make a perfect copy, at least for email, in perhaps 30 minutes if they are good at creating documents.

    Normal errors, in passports.
Dates, some will be numbers, others names, like month will be spelled on one line, but will be a number on another.
The photo is perfectly correct in vision. Signing it is often computer generated ( in some cases)

But the better companies that do this, they have IT people working for them, to keep their computers up, and systems running but also to do proofs of passports, visa's and fake hospital.
They also buy skype numbers in all types of nations, to pretend to be calling form some group or government agency to verify.

The girl working by her self at the kitchen table, you can tell a fake, the better places, theirs often look better than the real ones.

    Ghana Passports
Re; replys from Chuck and Curlyben. Thanks for all the advice and warnings. As you can tell, this issue is still dividing me. First, we speak on skype everyday for at least 6 to 8 hours a day. She has spent all her free time with me there. I have told her that there will be no western union or any money sent except for a plane ticket and she understands and has not asked. She even said if I had any doubts we could just remain friends. I do have feelings for her but will not be taken for a fool. If in fact this is a scam, she should leave and become an actress because of how convincing she is. Any more suggestions or comments that I could use to determine her ACTUAL intent. Thanks to one and all.

Keep in mind even $1,000 is a LOT of money in Ghana... if you have 6-8 hours a day to be tallking with SOMEONE in Ghana... why don't you make that same effort to find someone local to you that you will KNOW is real? ANd besides... think of it this way too... is she such a loser that no man in Ghana will have her as well, and if she isn't why hasn't she found one before now? Give that a bit of thought...

What?? What else are you doing with your life? No job or hobbies or sports or social circle?

How did you come to know this person?
