Handyman have trouble wiring bathroom lights. Breaker keeps tripping

I think it is two sets a black and white coming from the switch. The other set of black and white are the feed wires.

First the wires that come from the light, the black one will connect to the upper brass screw on the switch then the black from your feed (hot line) also goes on the switch bottom brass screw then wire nut the two white wire together, then wire nut the grounds together too. Make sure to connect the ground in the light fixture to the ground on the wire going to the switch. That's it if it keeps tripping, triple check all connections.

Disconnect all wires. Check black and white from same cable with a volt meter. The pair that gives u 110 volt reading is the power cable.

The other cable from wall should be the switch cable.

Attach black from switch to black from power.

Attach white from switch to black from light. Mark the white from switch with black tape at both ends to show it is a hot wire.

Attach white from power to white from light.

Should be good to go.

In your first post you had 6 wires.

2 from light,2 from switch, and 2 from power source. Is this correct?

The handyman added a extra outlet. Works okay. The lights turn off and on. But the outlet like for a an electric shaver, etc is always charged even with the wall switch turned off. I suspect
He didn't connect the outlet wire to the switch wire

Some place along the line we lost your problem.

Tell us how many wires are in the switch box.

How many wires are in box that light hooks to.

The new outlet in bathroom should be GFI.

There is no problem with outlet always being hot.

Everything is fine. Except the outlet is always hot, even when the switch is off. The fan
That is plugged into would continually be running. I did install a plug in tap outlet with a switch.
So you can turn off the fan. My wife doesn't want to hurt the handyman's feelings.
Personally I think it has something to do with the switch wire and the new outlet. Maybe should have been ganged together?
