    How much wife is eligible for from husband SSR?
    My husband passed away about 3 months ago. He was receiving Social Sercurity Retirement. I also receive Social Sercurity Retirement. I would like to know how much money am I elegible for from my husband check?

    If you haven't done so already, you should contact the Social Security Administration immediately to let them know of your husband's passing. The rules that determine how much you will receive are complicated, but they should be able to let you know what to expect. In general you will receive an amount that is the greater of what his benefit was or what your benefit was, but it depends on factors such as your age and whether he (or you) started receiving benefits before full retirement age.
