I have a 97 dodge intrepid. When I drive at times the car would just shut off and coast. Once its stopped, it has a difficult time restarting and recently(twice) it wouldn't start at all. The lights come on inside, but nothing is turning over. I have no idea what it could be. Can something like this be cause by my battery in mid drive? And how would I fix this?

1. Test all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

2. Ensure battery is fully charged and battery terminals and cable connections are clean.
3. Check for codes. Autozone will do this for free.
4. Install new spark plugs--the exact make and part no. that came in the car.
5. Replace fuel filter.
6. If problem persists, replace the coil:

My diagnosis, from afar, is that the battery needs replacing.
