    Bending radius of 350KCMIL conductors
The manufacturer of the control panel has the main circuit breaker 7.33" from the top of enclosurer. The electrican says he cannot bend the 350KCMIL conductors that tight to get the conductors on the lugs. Is there an NEC bending radius for this type of conductor?

    FishWiz:
    Yes, see NEC 300.34...
and also based on conductor properties as given in Chapter 9,
    350 kCM = (0.681)(8)=5.448 inches...
There is a tool for making tight bends like this...
If you wish you could send them a note that the space given is unreasonable
and if it ever fails try to send them a bill...

    Thanks Carson,
There was supposed to be 12" of clearence inside the enclosure to accomodate the 350KCMIL conductors but somebody DROPPED the ball. This info is very useful, I like the "bending" tool you speak of, that coupled up with the possibility of moving the main breaker down some might save the day!!
