I am looking for my father b his name is michael burns his roughly in his early 50s s and has other children one of which is called robert he was also married in the past I was told he used to live in the kennington area 26 years ago and he used to work on the lorrys for john lewis in london. Hi lulabel, it would help everyone if you had a birthdate and middle name... without them, your best bet is to start asking relatives, and to have a Facebook account and keep mentioning it there. If the company he worked for still exists, contact them, although they might refuse to give out info for privacy reasons. Is your mother alive?

Hi yes mum with me but has given me all the info she can and I have tried to contact his old work company but they won't give give me informaton :(

OK then, you have a lot of work to do. Go stand outside the company (if it isn't too far away from you) and ask people as they go in and out. Ask anyone who knew your mother then too. Go to his hometown and ask at the post office, drugstore, barber shop, pubs, anything! Get a middle name - your mother doesn't know it? Michael Burns is just too common. Put ads in his local papers where he lived.
