I have been with out water for 1 month now, and was wondering if my original idea was correct. I live in Utah where it gets cold in the winter. The water stopped one day during the cold season, so I assumed that the pipes were frozen, but now I'm not so sure. My house was built in 1920 pretty good construction to start with. The main is mixed materials however so I know there have been some "repairs", Iron, copper, and P.V.C. that I've come across so far.I have no water coming from any of the house fixtures so I know it is the main line. I go out and take one of the unions off and there is water flowing from the water meter. Now I have started digging up the yard now and tried a valve that goes to the sprinkler system which is 3 feet away from the main, the valve shot water all over the place for about a minute then stopped the meter didn't turn at all so I thought I found it yay! But no, I took a torch the section between the meter and the t that went to the valve no pressure to the valve or to the house. Also the weather has been 50ish for 2.5 weeks now and my faucets have been dripping for about that long is there some other possibilities to my problem or just a frozen pipe?

Sounds still frozen in the line somewhere if the first hose bib clogged after a minute. Depends also if something is lodged in the line. Turn off your main, remove the bib, and turn the main on slowly to see if that clears the bib. If not then there may be some ice or debris in the line. Nm :)
