New Shower fixture leaks with 1/2 pipe
What would cause a new shower fixture to leak when the tub spout is on? We replaced the diverter and two handle faucet. Now the shower is leaking when the tub is on. It's an older house with 1/2 copper tubing. We installed a pressure relief valve and turned the pressure WAY down. Eventually the shower stopped leaking but now there is not really enough pressure to take a shower. Is this typical? Could something else be wrong? The old faucet worked fine. But it broke and we couldn't get parts for it any more.

As Tom said: it is most likely either 1. High pressure or 2. shower riser is too low. Answer Tom's question so one of us can help you. Back to you. Milo

Are you sure you installed the two handle faucet with the correct side up? Some two handle faucets are hard to tell top from bottom. There should be something that indicates the top or shower head port.
