I have tested negative for HIV 4 times over the last 15 years. I recently haven't been feel well. Fatigue, dry mouth, I get uti's and sinus and neck pain. I just can't get better. About 2 years ago My husband donated blood and one of his screening came back positive for HIV antibody but all the rest were negative he went to the doctor he said it was nothing and may have been due to his hep vaccine a week before. Then to be sure he took a home HIV-1 test and it was negative. I have such anxiety about this and can't get it out of my mind. I've gone to my doctor and he did a routine blood test and everything was good and said I didn't need a std test. I don't know if its anxiety on top of everything else. I have 4 children should I be worried?

Why are you so worried about HIV, are you or your husband living a life style, either drugs or sex that could leave to HIV. If he does not have it, and you do not have it , and niether one has sex with others and don't use drugs, and if you are not in a high risk job where you are exposed to HIV,

How do you think you are going to get it, You don't get it though the air

I absolutely know this. And I'm not worried about contracting it now. My husband and I are faithful and no drugs! My mind went to before we were married but that was 15 years ago and that one antibody test. I made the mistake of researching online and everyone seems to contradict one another. I was just trying to ease my fears that with those negative tests my status was negative and couldn't be hiv. Thank you for your input.

A negative test may miss something a few months old, but not years old.
And after the blood donation issue ( and those have all sorts of errors of their own) his actual and real test from doctor was fine ?

You need to stop worry and go on with it, if you have had these extreme worries for 15 years of something happening back then, I may sound rude, but you need counseling to get over this obsession.

No I take no offense at all and you're right I need to get over it. I've never had any anxiety or related issues before this. Yes, my husband took a home hiv test which came back negstive (are they accurate) I got sick and wasn't feeling better and I'm sure stress related issues are prolonging it or giving me other issues. And my husband tells me I'm fine and I take no offense to your opinions I posted for a non-biased answer. So I appreciate it.
