I am going from an old mercury trane thermostat to a new honeywell Th8000. I have a gas furnace and an electric heat pump. It seems to work most of the time and them for some reason in the morning when the heat kicks on, it will be on for awhile and then goes into "wait" I believe it is in the wiring but have found nothing to be any use

R/RC - red wire and they are jumped together
y- yellow
O/B- orange
G - green
C- black
Y2 - blue
E and Aux are jumpered and White wire is in Aux
I have two more wires a pink and a brown.

Like I said 90% of the time there seems to be no problems. When I wake up the heat will be on but then at 6 when it goes to the awake time and should be warmer it goes into wait and then will go into recovery. If I take the thermostat off the wall for a few minutes and put it back on works fine. What is the deal?
