Had a leaking toilet. A plumber replaced seal and removed shims so toilet leaned. Said subfloor needed replacing. Just had subfloor replaced and new tile installed . When plumber tried using shims toilet leaked. He said the floor slopes. His only solution for the problem was to jack up the floor. Please.. does anyone have a better solution? Looked at Sani Seal gasget... would it solve problem?

How far out of level is the floor from one side of the toilet to the other? Is the toilet flange sitting on top of the new tile, or is the top of the flange setting below the tile? If the flange is to low, I would suggest either cutting out the old flange and installing a new one on of the tile, or using flange extensions to get it up to the right height. You may also be able to use an extra thick wax ring. Lots of options here. I wouldn't suggest jacking up the floor, as it may crack the grout of the new tile job. The floor should have been leveled up before the new tile was put in. If your current plumber can't figure out a way to level the toilet and make is not leak, I would suggest trying a different plumber. This really isn't rocket science, just takes some experience to make things work with what you have. Shims will most likely be a must if the floor is that far out.
