I own a 2005 HD Ultra Classic Electra Glide. Recently one night I noticed my lights dim during shifting. I checked the gauge the next time I shifted and observed the meter go to 3 then up to 14-15. Then the following time I took the bike out it was normal. The last time the meter went to 16 and stayed at 16 and only occasionally drop during shifting. Do I need a voltage regulator or battery.

. Clean battery terminals and cable connections.

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Ensure all cells are good--replace, if necessary.

. With the cycle running, check the regulated battery voltage. It should likely be 14 to 15 volts. If it's low, try replacing the voltage regulator/brush assembly.
