Can you use 240v on 208v motor?
    Can you use a 208V 3ph rated commercial dryer on a 240v 3ph line?

    Thank you,

I would not recommend doing this, but it probably would not hurt it. You should be able to change the voltage on the motor to 240 volts. Check the voltage with a meter and see what it is. Many 208 volt sources are higher and average around 220 volts. Going a little higher usually will not hurt it; when you try to run a 240 volt motor on 208 volts you are more likely to have problems if the source is around 200 volts, as it is much of the time with a lot of loads on the transformer. A 208 volt motor will run cooler and on lower amps with a slightly higher voltage.
