    Gift to pen pal buddy:
I'm looking for a gift to my pen-pal buddy from Zambia. She's a girl, and her name is Twaambo. I'm not looking to go out and buy a $10 - $20 gift because then she might just look forward to me giving her gifts and not actually talking to me. So, I'd like a nice handmade or in-expensive gift.

I'd like to give her something meaningful to her because she does not live in Canada (Where I live) something that would be special to her. That she'll be happy to get.

Any help accepted and grateful for! Don't forget to read the P.S.!

P.S. Any good sites for finding more pen-pals helpful too! She's 14 if it helps!!

Do you know her size? Maybe a t-shirt with something you drew or printed on it?

A friend of mine uses pretty wallpaper pieces she has cut out to glue them onto blank stationery and envelopes as trim.

    Sort of like this --

Does she need school supplies? Pencils, pens, stationary, stamps?

    Thanks Wondergirl.
teacherjenn4, she actually doesn't need anything and I know this because my last year teacher has friends who,go there every year to help out and they ask if any wants to donate but then they said everyone had enough stuff.. . But it is always better safe then sorry.

They are really easy to make. You buy the kits and string the beads. Young children can even make then. You can even buy letters and have her name on it.

Yeah, okay that works. What about if I send her some hard individually wrapped candy from Canada?

Before you send food check about shipping it, and what the rules are. Food isn't always easy to ship.

My teacher has some friends who take it down there for us. So I don't have to worry about shipping.

You might want to see if it's allowed. Many countries don't allow any kind of food to enter or leave their countries.

My teacher says its allowed and that an idea we could send them was candy. Also, where they are in Africa, some of them send us candy and then ask us to send them candy. Some of them send us money from Africa, It's really neat!
