The pipe is coming from a drain line in the basement. The drainage system has an outside vent. If I use a sanitary tee would it be OK to place a studor vent on top of the pipe also or should I just cap it off?

You have a working drain with a outside vent, Correct? If that's true why would you want to do anything to it? That's how drainage works. What am I missing here? Back to you, TomQuote:

The p-trap is not attached yet can The drain system already has a stack vent Can you have a studor vent in the same system with a stack vent? Or should I cap the pipe where the studor vent would go? Thanks
What size is the drain line to the stack and how far away is the ptrap from the stack? I assume your location allows wet venting.
