I have an addition built on to my house . It has a shower toilet sink and washing machine. About 2 years after moving in the sump pump went . It was replaced by roto router 2 yrs later it was shot and had to be replaced again. This pump is now shot again and needs to be replaced . Roter router charges 950 bucks to do this job . I am looking for an alternative to rotoruter .im not to bad when it comes to sweating pipes or glueing PVC is this gomething I could do myself?

If the pump in question services these fixtures then you don't have a sump pump, You have a ejector system,

Reroute what" The system's already in place, What do you wish to do? Replace the faulty pump or tear out the system and start over? I got to hunch I know why you're burning out pump motors. Unless you filter out all the lint and crap the washers sends to the grinder the impellers could be put under a strain attempting to grind up and process all those cloth fibers.
I'm amazed that none of the people that you had working didn't inform you of this.
I'm not sure about what you wish to do or how I can help you. Can you shed some light on this? Back to you, Tom

Thanks for your insight . Sorry about the spelling it was replaced by Roter Rooter this is the 3rd pump in about 4 years . I know that shouldn't be . I'm glad you pointed out the washing machine issue . I just want to replace the pump . There is a toilet shower sink and washing machine as you know. Any special pump needed? I know my boat has a maserator . I am thinking the impellers serve the same purpose in the house. Any sugestions on how to filter out the washing machine waste.

Sure! Simply tie a old nylon stocking over the washer hose and clean it after every washing, Ejector systems are designed to chew up solid waste and toilet paper, not clothing fiber, Are you saying none of those Rotor Rooter guts didn't inform you running laundry through a ejector system isn't good for it? You should have been informed of this three burn out pumps ago. So 8if all you want to do is to replace the pump what's your problem? Back to you, Tom
