    Corrosion on Air Purifier cartridge
I have a Carrier Infinity electric furnace model FE4ANFOO5
Set up with a Carrier electronic air purifier below the
Air handler on the return side.
It uses the Infinity air purifier cartridge #GAPCCCAR2020-AO1.

The purifier cartridge slides into a slot.

This slot has what looks like spring steel retaining clips
On either side that compress as the cartridge is installed.

These clips are pop riveted to the metal frame.
The clips slide over and match up with foil contact
Strips on the sides of the cartridge.

This furnace is only two years old and I have changed the filter twice.
Both of the spring steel contacts have corroded.
One side I saved with a little fine sandpaper the
Other side corroded and broke off.

I noticed corresponding corrosion on the foil strips on the purifier cartridge.

There is no humidifier on the furnace or in the house.
It has a heat pump and air conditioner and a condensate
Pump all of which seem to function correctly.
The Unit is in a heated garage.

At first I was thinking moister corrosion, but now I am thinking electrical corrosion between dissimilar metals of the steel clips and foil strips.

Any ideas on why this would corrode so quickly?
Should I put electronic contact cleaner on the strips to prevent corrosion?
Can I buy replacement clips or just make my own?

    Thank you for any help.
