    Reduced contract due to illness?
    Dear Sir
I coach at a college and this year they offered me less money after they found out I have Fibromyalgia and could possible miss a practice or so. I declined the contract as it was significantly less that the year before. In my resignation it states that less money is not right and I did not apprediate them discussing it among the administration of my illness. Is this something I have rights to sue over as it seems so cruel?
    Thank you

No, they actually offered you a contract... and you refused it... so the issue was closed at that point.

You aren't entitled to a bigger contract, and in fact many, many people have had to take cuts in pay if they wanted to keep the jobs they have had for many years. Particularly in the economy of the last few years.

And actually... its common for employers and staff to have discussions among themselves before deciding to hire ANYONE... and even if they want to renew the contract of someone who has been there, I've never worked someplace a single individual was alone in the hiring process, or renewing a contract. . I've been involved in many over the last 30 years.

You have no grounds for a suit. Coaching jobs have varied salaries and yours is not set by law. They can offer anything and you can accept or decline anything

No law suit, It appears you were not being paid per meeting, you could have asked for that, then if you did not miss any, you would have gotten full pay, and only lost money if you missed.

It appears they are aware of an illness that will make you miss work.
