How do I get rid of mites safely? I fell asleep on a blanket outside and now have small (pepper sized) black dots on me. I keep feeling bites! I shaved all but my head and am now only feeling bites there. I know it's not lice because I went twice to a clinic and they found nothing. There are so many kinds of biting mites, and there isn't one treatment for all of them. Scabies is a mite that requires a prescription lotion. Dust mites are easiest to deal with. Bird mites are probably the worst. It takes a specialist with a microscope to tell you what kind you have.
I would put either rubbing alcohol or peroxide in a spray bottle and spray your entire scalp thoroughly while standing in the tub, and spray your entire body just to be on the safe side. Wait a few minutes and then shower.

Spray all around your house and wash everything that's washable in a washing machine on super hot.
