He doesn't have to go to jail an less your mom wants to push charges on him or what ever its called .bc your 16 and he is 18 it's called rape .stupid age is a number I think if your mom doesn't then he should be fine
Age is more than a number.
Listen to your mom. Stay home have the baby and finish school. Life is going to be hard enough. The last thing you need is to be living with him and get pregnant again.
I'm not understanding why your mom did not have a problem with this relationship. 13 is too young to be dating and look what has come of it... 16 and pregnant.
It depends on where you are. Laws vary by area. Its possible even if your parents don't press charges.
I'm going to be honest. YES, he can since you're a minor. But if your parents don't press charges your fine. Laws do vary by area, but most laws you are a minor until 18, but I believe after you have the baby you'll be emancipated which means you'll be legal just before 18.
From the legal side of things, where are you at, In China, the age of consent is 14 and a 14 year old can have sex if they want.
If in the US, what state, each state has its own law on age of consent.
But if mom wants to keep the boy away from you, there are other laws to use.
I would say for now, let mom help, live at home, finish school, if you want to keep seeing the boy, OK, date and let him show that he will be a dad, and that he will work and support the child
This is not about being honest, this is about being correct. In some areas its not only the parents who have the right to press charges. Anyone who knows the father is an adult could press charges and some people may be required to report it.
Haing a baby does emancipate a minor in some places but not always. More often it does not. And even where it does it doesn't affect the statutory rape. If the sex occurred prior to her becoming legal that's all that matters.
