We've been going out for 2 years and a half and a couple weeks ago my boyfriend wanted to talk. He said he is not happy and I ask why he is feeling that way and he said I don't know. He told me he misses how things were and things are getting more like a routine. He said he loves me but his feelings are not as strong and he also said I shouldn't think he's breaking up with me but his not.

I don't know what to do, I feel like I'm always on the edge and paranoid he's going to break up with me. I love him so much and I would be devastated if we split.

First, when your gut is telling you something is wrong and that he may break up with you soon, he probably is.

But he is telling you his feelings first to give you guys an oppurtunity to change things that he isn't happy about. Most people won't even give you that oppurtunity.

So my advice would brace yourself for the possibility that he might leave soon, but first sit down and ask him if he can figure out why he isn't happy. If his answer is still that he doesn't know, then try and figure it out before too late. Try to get out of the routine he thinks you guys are stuck in. Its possible the spark just went out for him and he's looking for you to try and bring it back.

Do your best and don't give up, but brace yourself. Good luck

Do you guys go on dates? If so are they often? Do you try new things with each other? Are you spontanious? Like doing something random at a random time just because?

If the love is gone it's gone and it's hard to get back, especially if he lost it a long time ago.

I tried my best to figure why he is not happy. At first I think he is just stressed about school because he is graduating this year. He said he might be too busy with school and his job that he might not have time for me. He is confused that he is asking me what he should do.

Well, if his problem is with school and work, he may still care about you, but it hurts to hear, not enough to stick it out with you.

Your best bet if this is the case is to just give him his space. Let him do his schoolwork and job and if he feels he can still fit you in to his life, he will.

But have that talk with him first. Don't pry too much, and if he says he doesn't know what you guys can do, just leave it be and give him the space.

Yes, we've went on a couple of dates. We spent mostly all summer together. I tried being more unpredictable and surprise him randomly. When I gave him his anniversary gift, he was really surprised. He open and said he used to have all this crazy gifts ideas he could give me and it would just come naturally to him and he said now he has no clue and he had to YouTube to get some ideas. I told him that is sweet but he didn't have to give me anything and he said sometimes he just doesn't have the motivation to do something sweet and the next day he open to me about how he is confused with his feelings
