Newly installed angle shutoff on cpvc leaking at cpvc
I just installed a shutoff valve for a garage bath sink and I used primer and cpvc glue on the pipe (but not the inside of angle valve). Now after drying 3 hours, its leaking at the cpvc. Is there any way to fix/glue the leak without cutting off the shutoff and going back to store to get a new one and more pipe since only 1" will be left if I have to cut off.

Oh, did I mention, my building inspection is tomorrow and the permit expires the following day, so not much time to fix.

I would personally clean off the joint and apply a good bead of 5 minute epoxy. Why didn't you use the.glue on the angle stop? You created a dry joint.

Thank you so much ! I was afraid to put glue inside the angle valve thinking it might clog it up. Then when it leaked I looked online and saw my error, but no remedy until you came to my rescue.

The reason you had a leak wasn't that you failed to glue the angle stop. ( the glue on the pipe would have held) but you failed to prime the inside of the stop. For the two pieces of PVC to weld together the glaze must be taken off with PVC primer. Good luck and glad you got fixed up OK. Tom

5 minute epoxy. That's going to be a nice thing to remember.
