    Air filter cover removal
2002 honda civic air filter cover issue. Plastic housing of air filter box is damaged. The screws that secure the cover to the box spin, but won't come loose.

Air filter boxes are very tough--I doubt that any real damage has taken place. I use an 8mm nutdriver to remove the screws, which need to be undone a good number of turns to allow the cover to come off. If necessary, spray the machine screws with WD-40 and slightly lift the cover, while you unfasten each machine screw. Play around with it and I'm sure you can get it off.

Afterwards, wipe down the inside of the air box with a damp cloth (water only), allow to dry, and install the air filter.
