South African marrying EU/Canadian passport holder.
I am a South African living in SA and my fiancé has moved to Belgium. When we get married would I be able to work and live in Canada or the EU? Would I have to apply for a work permit etc? Thank you!

That and a VISA... marrying him does NOT give you automatic residency rights... they did away with the law that allowed that years ago... I know because I was married under the OLD law and grandfathered into it.

Would that be a spousal visa? Surely getting a work permit would be easier by having a spouse there? Thanks!

Not really.. its no easier and still not a certain thing... they can still deny it for almost any reason. In fact most people that try to get one don't get approved.
