I really like this guy I have like him for a long time we went to school together and haven't seen each other in a long time we talk all the time in Facebook and he tries to get me to come to his house sometime to talk but when I try to get up with him to come up I can't get ahold of him

I don't know. He could just be being sociable. Why don't you ask him where you two stand.

We have talked about it but he hasn't really said the only thing he says is I've been hurt in the past and I don't want to get hurt again

Sounds like he is just not ready for a relationship. If you want one, you might want to look elsewhere.
