So my (complicated relationship with) best friend told me today that she needs space. I asked her why... people at school keep going up to her and tell her I am always talking about her and worrying about her. She feels that I have been to clingy and that it suffoactes her at points. She wants to still talk, be bestfriends/lovers, and she said she still loves me, but thinks its best that we talk less. I also know though there is a lot of going on in her household and with her bffl Becca... but I'm just confused

Honestly, it sounds pretty clear. She was very straight forward when saying you have been to clingy. Either she is done with the relationship and does in fact still love you, in a caring way. Or she may still have feelings but wants some space. Give her room to breathe or you might lose her.

Publicly worrying about someone is the worst, I think. She confided in you as a friend, and it isn't up to you to broadcast her problems at home or anywhere.
Suffocating.
Clingy.
Talking about her too much.
Tell her you will work on all of those and ask her if she will check back with you in a month. Force yourself to keep your distance, and if she says no, no means no.
